Everybody Have Fun Tonight
Rebel Yell
About the Band
The Sixties were promising, the Seventies were devastating, and the
Eighties were fed up with both of them. If the chorus of any song
could encapsulate the decade of the 1980’s, it would have been this
one:
"Everybody have fun tonight.
Everybody Wang Chung tonight."
Nobody knew what it meant, but it sounded good and that’s what the
Eighties were all about. It was a time for "make me feel good"
alternative, and -- as usual -- the music of the day reflected the
desires of youth. Rock and Roll was dead (they said), so when MTV
first signed on, heralding the onslaught of a new decade, New Wave was
the ear candy of a new generation. An alternative to pop and punk, New
Wave was equal parts ambiguity and energy. At least it wasn’t disco!
SELECTIVE RECALL is a professional five piece band that is great for
almost any event.
Nostalgia? You bet!
Musical history? That, too! Cool songs? Absolutely!
The Musicians
KRIS VALENTINE on lead vocals
RUDY LOBO on guitar/vocals
SCOTT TOTH on drums/vocals
ERIC McKNIGHT on keyboards/vocals
JAMES DiGIROLAMO on bass/vocals
The “core” of SELECTIVE RECALL are former members of the colorful
Chicago band CHAMELEON WORLD, primarily a tribute to The Talking
Heads. SELECTIVE RECALL starts with the Talking Heads, but doesn’t
stop there. They cover the classic Eighties anthems from “Turning
Japanese” to Modern English, “Relax” to “Rebel Yell”, The CARS to
Simple Minds and much more. SELECTIVE RECALL is a tribute to an entire
decade!
